5 Ways To Treat Obesity

Obesity refers to the fat overload. This is a condition in which the excessive fat is gathered in body especially near the stomach region. The reasons of fats can be anything such as disease and hormonal disturbance. It is called by the name Medo roga in Ayurveda. Obesity increases the chances of heart diseases, blood pressure, sleep apnea, late wound healing, diabetes, osteoarthritis, high cholesterol and liver disease in a person. Obesity can also lead to irregular periods and infertility in women. Keeping in mind the various side effects of the obesity, it is necessary to take the effective steps to treat the obesity. A few of the basic reasons for the accumulated fats are:

There are two types of the drugs for the treatment of the obesity. Appetite suppressants named Meridia and didrex and fat blockers such as xenical are considered as the best. These act directly on the brain making the person believe that he or she is not hungry. These must be used only for those people whose BMI (body mass index) is more than thirty.

Change in the eating habits

It is necessary to change your dietary habits if you want to lose some weight. This will be a major part in losing weight along with other treatments like meditation and surgery. Most of the nutritionist recommends to cut down the empty calories. This way you will not even feel that you are cutting down the calories and will get benefited as well. To replace the fat items with no fat or low fat is also helpful in treating the obesity. This way you will be able to reduce and control your total intake of the diet. Diet plan can play major role in reducing the obesity. However it is always good to consult a doctor for starting any diet plan.

Gastric surgery

If you are dealing with morose obesity or having some kind of medical issues with weight, you may think about the surgery. Two most commonly used weight loss surgeries include gastric bypass and gastric banding. In this surgery, the size of the stomach is reduced and the person is no longer able to eat more food.

As the name depicts it can be difficult to treat obesity by both exercise and diet plan at one time. However, it has proven to be effective without any side effects. The main reason behind the obesity is laziness. An obese person spends most of the time sitting. Therefore, a behavior modification should be used to treat the obesity with exercise and diet. This involves setting the goals for obese persons. The goals are related to losing the weight. It may be difficult in the starting but if the goals are strong and the person is motivated well, it is not impossible. It works for many people.

Xenical

This is specifically designed for the obese people. However, it is not available in all the places but is working for those who can avail it. It works directly on the digestive system of the body and targets on dietary habits. It is capable to stop the absorption of major parts of fats which are taken with the meals. These fats are removed out of through bowel movements. There is an ingredient called orlistat in the xenical. Some people are allergic to the xenical therefore, must be taken after prescribing from the doctor. Following points must be kept in mind for the intake of xenical:-

• Age must be above 18 years

• You should not have any allergy to the ingredients present in the xenical

• You should not have pancreatic problems

• You must not have any other health problem,
